"Eventing at The Mem"

Yes you read it correctly, “Eventing”, the ultimate challenge of dressage, show jumping and cross country, requiring a range of skills across all three disciplines. Harmony, rhythm, balance, precision, accuracy and bravery. All at that well known grand arena “The Mem”, as one local affectionately called it during a chat at the weekly Cuppa & Company. Meet the Mem Trustees, your very own Eventing team.

Organising events for the Fram community to enjoy, whilst raising funds to keep our “arena” in top condition, is a bit like a three day event although ours is less dressage and more jumping over hurdles with a sprint toward the finish line.  We wouldn’t do it if we didn’t enjoy it. There has to be some fun along the way as well as hard work and the positive feedback we receive is just brilliant.

This will be our first full year in the saddle and we got off to a decent start in putting together a programme of eventing. Six to eight a year is in the Development Plan and so far we have done Table Top, Quiz, and an evening of French Music. Our fully licenced bar is now up and running and no doubt this adds something to the fun. Coming up there is a Craft Fair in July, a Slapstick Pantomime Picnic in August, another Quiz night in September and a Ceilidh in November to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the “new Hall”. It’s a cross country marathon not a six furlong sprint as they say.

As ever all details will be on our Facebook page and local social media, but if that’s not your thing why not sign up to receive email updates and the monthly Newsletter HERE.

So, we are on track to deliver a full and fun programme of events that also make a few quid to keep The Mem in top condition for the future. Hope to see you there soon.

Best wishes from Team Mem 

PS If you are thinking about booking for a party do it sooner rather than later as demand is on the up. Don’t miss that special date.
