The Institute is a registered charity, independent of any other organisation in Wylam and managed by a dedicated group of trustees and staff. Having lost a valuable source of income in the last nine months, the Institute will soon struggle to avoid the huge costs of maintaining a Victorian building and garden and must encourage more activites to be held in the hall by improving the building and facilities.
There's more information on this in the Documents section to explain where we are and how you can help. Initially, we want to ask residents of Wylam and the surrounding area their views on whether we should redevelop the Institute, and if so, what would you like to see us achieve.
There are paper forms available at the Institute that you can drop into the post box, or you can complete the online survey here. There are only 3 questions. Responses will be anonymous and your name will not be shared or attributed to any comments. A summary of the feedback will be available once the responses have been analysed.
We hope you can give us some feedback to help plan the future of the Institute. The closing date for responses is Friday 1 May 2026.
Thank you.
