Community Action Northumberland (CAN) and the West Northumberland Community Buildings Consortium (WNCBC) both offer support to village halls and other community buildings. The Institute attends events and networking opportunities arranged by CAN and WNCBC to learn about new initiatives and hear information shared by these organisations and meet other hall trustees. We have invited experts from CAN to advise us on making changes, for example to our governance arrangements, volunteering, digital inclusion and energy use. Strong informal networks with other village halls have provided a wealth of advice and expertise and we are grateful for all the support we've received.
The Institute attended AGMs for both CAN and WNCBC in November 2025 and we wish both organisations well for the coming year.
