Astounding documentary following 17 extraordinary women as they climb Mount Kilimanjaro. Filmed and produced by Michelle Sanders, the climbers battle sub zero temperatures and physical limits to reach the summit of Africa’s highest peak. Most of the team are living with ostomies or are survivors of birth trauma. These are women who have been told—or felt—that their bodies were broken. By trekking through five different ecosystems to reach the Roof of Africa, they prove that life after surgery or injury isn’t just possible; it can be peak-shattering. Hosted by Warkworth WI this event includes a talk by Gill Castle of Chameleon Buddies, teas and coffees and a raffle. Please note the film starts at 2pm (doors open 1.45pm) and the event finishes at 4pm. Entry £5 (cash only) per person to raise funds for Chameleon Buddies.
