Alexia Gardner, one of the foremost British jazz singers, uses her voice to bring new life to songs initially made famous by artists like Billie Holiday, Lauryn Hill, Sarah Vaughan, and Cilla Black. She has been recording Jazz or Jazz fusion (with elements of R&B, Pop and Reggae) since 2002. In 2011 she was nominated for 2 Grammy Awards (best new comer and best vocal jazz album) and received a Swiss Jazz Award. In 2013, between her 2nd and 3rd albums, she landed the title role in Aida put on by the West Side Singers, Switzerland.
Alexia has had a varied decades-spanning career. As a teen when she was chosen to tour with the British Cabaret Circuit in England and Wales alongside her sister Paula. As a solo artist, Alexia has recorded in China, played in Switzerland and New York and performed on luxury cruise liners across the Mediterranean and at luxury hotel groups in Asia. She has even had the honor of singing for several Heads of State, including the late Nelson Mandela in Kuala Lumpur in 2001.
