Thanks to a grant from The Northern Powergrid Foundation, the village hall now has solar PV panels, battery backup and a standy generator. This equipment will enable the hall to be more self sufficient in electricity and will provide resilience in times of extended power outages.
In future during such emergencies, the hall will be able operate as a hub to enable local residents to meet in a warm space, have access to a kitchen to prepare hot food and drink, charge their electrical devices and access the internet.
