Mitford Village Hall was originally made up of two ex-military wooden huts, standing on brick plinths and known as ‘The Hut’ or ‘The Television Hut’. The name arises from the fact it was in this building that the first television set in the village was installed, to watch the Coronation of Her Majesty the Queen in 1953.
This year, in time for the coronation of King Charles III, our hall will be equipped with new audio visual equipment. Consisting of a professional laser projector and a large screen, the experience will be further enhanced by a hi-fi quality sound system. Using a simple media interface, hall users will be able to present their own content and in the future, possibly enjoy screenings of new films.
