The Village of Greenhead lies just outside the Northumberland National Park, close to Hadrians Wall and is a great place to stop on the Pennine Way or whilst taking in our Historic sites. Central to the village you’ll find a Tearoom, Hotel/Restaurant, Youth Hostel, Primary School, St Cuthberts Church and our Village Hall.
A short walk from the Village are Thirlwall Castle (12th-century castle remains on the bank of the River Tipalt) and Blenknsopp Castle (Castle remains incorporating The Blenkinsopp Castle Inn). Heading east up the hill is the Roman Army Museum and Walltown Country Park. Further afield are the roman sites of Vindolanda and Birdoswald (with public transport on the AD122 bus) and the Town of Haltwhistle with its many local amenities. The Village Hall is located conveniently just minutes from the A69 trunk road which runs between the cities of Newcastle and Carlisle.
The hall comprises of two main rooms (one large hall and the 'Back Room'), a fully equipped kitchen. Mens, Womens and Disabled Persons toilet facilities and shower. The hall is fully accessible for those with additional needs. We are currently looking at installing full internet and WIFI access.
The hall is available to hire by the community and also by local businesses. Please contact us on greenhead-village-hall@googlegroups.com for our very reasonable rates and see our online calender for availabilty.
We are a registered Charity, registration number 1077054 and are always grateful for donations to help with the running and upkeep of the hall.
