There was an excellent turnout for the Fish & Chips evening last Friday. And we tried out a new ordering system that allows you to wait under cover while your meal is cooked. This may be particularly useful when the autumn and winter gales arrive! The way we now operate is that when you order your meal at the van, Cameron will give you a number and, if you wish, you can then come into the Hall to wait. When your meal is ready he sends a text to a mobile phone in the Hall (Judith Wilkes provided this service on Friday) and the message is then passed on to those waiting inside. This means that you can come into the Hall while you wait either just to shelter, or, preferably, to enjoy a chat and a drink at the pay bar. And of course you are most welcome to join us to eat your Fish & Chips in the Hall. This worked very well last Friday and we plan to continue with this system in the future. The next visit by Frost's van to the Village Hall is on Friday the 5th November. Why not put it in your diary?
