Bulbs, bulbs, glorious bulbs

The next meeting of the GWVH Community Gardening Group (CoGG) is on Tuesday, October the 26th, and will feature a talk on ‘Bulbs, Bulbs, Glorious Bulbs' by Karen Phillips of Linnels Farm, Hexham. The door opens at 7.30pm and the talk starts at 8pm. Entrance is free and there will be a pay bar. There will also be bulbs for sale. All welcome!

Bulbs are one of the best, and most economical, ways of ringing the changes in the garden and creating impact whether in pots or in sweeping drifts naturalised in lawns. There is a bulb for any garden situation:

  1. hot and dry; damp and moist
  2. within grass
  3. under trees
  4. within hedge bottoms
  5. and particularly in containers.

With careful choice bulbs can produce flowers over most of the year.
