Our facilities

Wingates Village Institute is a traditional stone and slate building which consists of an attractively decorated main hall with overhead lights and uplighting, a small but well equipped kitchen, a store-room / dressing room for performances and 2 WCs one of which is wheelchair accessible. Externally there are small gardens to three sides and a secluded paved and furnished patio which is wheelchair accessible directly from the hall or via a path around the outside of the building and which has lovely views over the surrounding countryside. There is central heating and free WiFi throughout (password required). 

 

 

Ideal for

  • The venue regularly hosts musical and drama performances for the Highlights North Rural Touring Scheme
  • It is licensed for up to 80 people at such performances

  • Crafting workshops and classes are also held from time to time
  • The hall  is available for private hire by individuals and groups 
  • Several affiliated groups already use the hall on a regular basis e.g. Bowls Club, Bridge Club and the Wingates Reading Group

  • The hall is often used for meetings by a wide range of local organisations

  • The hall is not licensed for weddings but regularly hosts private parties and receptions

  • A Ballroom and Latin Line Dance Class takes place on Monday evenings in the autumn and winter terms
