Slaley Commemoration Hall

The Commemoration Hall is a substantial stone building consisting of a large main hall, separate community room, fully fitted modern kitchen, storage facilities and unisex toilet.

The building has undergone a complete refurbishment in the past few years including redecoration, new toilet facilities and our new Community Room.

The building celebrated its centerary at the end of 2022 and the completion of the renovations coincided with this important milestone in the history of the building.

The Hall is the central community building in our parish and is used for many community activities, social events, and public meetings. Groups using the Commemoration Hall include the Women's Institute, the Slaley Show Society, the Film Club, History Group, Carpet Bowls Club, Badminton, Leek Club, Slaley and Healey Parish Councils, the Community Trust, Ladycross Nature Reserve, Friends of Slaley School, the Churches, Keep-fit for the Elderly, and others.

We have solar panels which provide power to storage batteries, therefore if there is a power outage in the area, events in Slaley Commemoration Hall continue without disruption.  For local people or a stranded visitor Slaley Commemoration can provide Emergency cover.

We are always loking for new ways for the hall to be used and welcome groups and individuals who want to try something new.
