The Torch Centre in Hexham is a very unique place in the area! Established just over forty years ago and built near the now demolished spinal unit of Hexham Hospital, it aimed to provide a centre where people with disabilities from across the area could come together to socialise and take part in competitive and recreational activities. Although its user groups come from much wider backgrounds now, it still remains true to its core objective of providing a safe space for the more vulnerable members of our communities with weekly activities including discos and snooker nights. There are also a range of other groups who meet here regularly from energetic jive classes to pilates, painting and Tai Chi
