The new roof project is in it's early stages. The current roof over the wooden part of the hall is 90 years old and is nearing the end of it's life. Unfortunately it leaks when the wind blows from the wrong direction. It also has very little insulation. At the moment the hall's managment group is seeking advice as to how to approach this project in the best way. It is hoped that the old roof will be replaced with a new metal roof with insulation.
Fundraising has begun already as expert help and advice will be needed and this will come at a cost.
Update May 2025:
The hall has been visited by Jake Delacey, Community Action Northumberland's (CAN) Community Buildings' Energy Adviser. Jake had produced a report for the hall that outlines recommendations for making the hall weather tight and more energy efficient.
