Heritage

Built into the stone of the outside wall, is a sunken plaque which tells the bare bones of the Hall's beginnings.  The plaque simply states:

Humshaugh Village Hall
1928
Erected by Public Subscription in gratitude to the men of this neighbourhood who responded to their country's call 1914-1918.
'Lest We Forget'

Since that time, the hall has been in constant use and was redecorated and updated in 2008.

In 2019, the Commitee developed a 10-year refurbishment plan to update and improve the facilities. Since then the following projects have been completed:

- resurfacing of external car park areas

- replacement of chairs

- redecoration of all areas

- replacement of lights in main hall with LEDs

- ceiling insulation to main hall roof space

- re-sand, seal and marking of main hall floor

- replacement of stage curtains

- installation of refreshment area in meeting room

- replacement of meeting room flooring
