Remembrance Day 2023

Those of you who have been around in the Village over the weekend may have seen that a stunning remembrance display has been put up at our War Memorial.

This blanket and other decorations were made by the Womens Institute members to commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the 1st World War and has been used since then on a yearly basis for the remembrance period. So our heartfelt thanks go out to the W.I for this.

Many of you will also be aware that our War Memorial will be having some works in the next week to ensure its continued prominence in the centre of the village. This work is being carried out pro-bono by the team at Heritage Consolidation and we would again like to express our gratitude for this on behalf of the village as a whole! Many thanks to Gary Simpson and the rest of the team.

Our remembrance Service this year will be on the 12th November at the War Memorial at 10.50am for the laying of wreathes and the sounding of the last post. There will also be a piper to play a lament this year, and the church service will continue at St Cuthberts following this.

All are welcome and we hope to see you there.
