Holy Island Village Hall (The Crossman Hall) is located in the centre of the historic village of Holy Island. The island itself is part of the Lindisfarne National Nature Reserve. It is a modern purpose built building with green credentials including solar energy, underfloor heating and heating via air source heat pump. It is currently managed by a group of volunteer trustees, all mostly resident within the village, and several 'friends'. They are responsible for the upkeep, continual maintenance and fund raising activities that keep the hall alive. We are a registered charity.
The hall is all on one level, with a gentle ramp leading to the main entrance and a spacious lobby. It includes toilet and shower facilities and an accessible toilet. The main hall is a large spacious area leading onto seperate rooms and areas available for smaller events. A modern kitchen is also available, equipped with fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, oven and hot water boiler. A bar area ia slso available.
We hold regular activities including badminton, exercise groups, coffee mornings, music events, cinema nights, village parties and celebrations.
It is a friendly comfortable venue to hire for family celebrations including weddings, music concerts, committee meetings and social events. It has a large capacity and can be tailored to your needs. It is a fabulous location to hold your events in this unique island location.
Holy Island is 3 miles from the mainlaind and accessed by a tidal causeway, please check the tides via the link below. The village is 5 miles from the main A1 road near Beal and approximatley 15 miles from Berwick-Upon-Tweed which is on the east cost rail line.
There are numerous facilities in the village including, accommodation, public houses, restaurants, cafes and a post office.
