Statement in support of retaining Great Whittington Village Hall

This document deals with a dispute about maintenance costs of the Village Hall. These costs were a crucial issue in the recent debate about whether to sell the Hall to a property developer and it was suggested that they might even reach a staggering £184,000. This new analysis provides a detailed analysis showing that most items on the list used to justify this value had already been completed or were not necessary. There is thus no basis for the argument that the Hall is too expensive to keep. In fact, Parishioners can be reassured that the Village Hall is a robust, well-maintained stone building whose maintenance costs are modest and that there are a number of sources of grant income that can be obtained to meet these needs.
