The Memorial Hall was built by public subscription in memory of Queen Victoria's Jubilee in 1887 and inaugurated as a men's reading room in 1889. It has been at the heart of village life for many years and the venue for a wide range of social activites. It holds a very special place in the affections of the inhabitants of Craster.
It is now run by a registered charity Craster Community Trust. The trustees are all volunteers and have worked hard over recent years to secure funding for improvements to the hall. It now looks stunning.
