Harold is a young man obsessed by death; he stages elaborate fake suicides, attends funerals (usually for people that he does not know), and drives a hearse, much to the despair of his wealthy socialite mother. Harold meets 79-year-old Maude, while at a random stranger's funeral, and discovers that they share a hobby.
Harold is entranced by Maude's quirky outlook on life, which is bright and delightfully carefree. Maude and Harold become friends and she teaches him how to make the most of his time on earth. This film will charm your socks off. Starring Ruth Gordon and Bud Cort. (1971, certificate 12, 1h 28’).
