Accomplished musician and biographer Paul Thompson brings to Warkworth his celebration of the extraordinary songs and remarkable life of Jake Thackray, one of our greatest, funniest and most original songwriters.
Paul will be singing the Yorkshireman’s hilarious, poetic, irreverent songs and giving colourful insights into his remarkable life. He’ll be performing with Nadine, a guitar Jake once owned and named.
Paul has performed shows all over the country, as well as on the radio. He is the co-author of the acclaimed biography, Beware of the Bull – The Enigmatic Genius of Jake Thackray, which was included in the Daily Telegraph’s pick of the best music books of 2022. His latest book is Jake Thackray – The Unsung Writer, an anthology of Jake’s quirky prose.
